Shoreditch Grind is determined to give everyone a caffeine high on their birthday. The coffee bar will be handing out 500 free espresso martinis from 5pm on Friday 17 to celebrate their fifth year in the city. Party-goers can then expend some of that roasted good feeling dancing to five hours of live music and DJs. Anyone turning up on Friday may also be called upon to help blow out all the candles collected on a giant birthday cake – coffee heads can exchange candles at any of the seven Grind venues for a free coffee this Thursday and Friday.
Shoreditch Grind has been serving east Londoners their daily brain juice from the Old Street roundabout with their cute retro cinema sign popping up on Instagram feeds since June 2011. They've even launched a radio station and built a recording studio, roaster, and coffee-ordering app.
Five special party guests will also receive a special Gold Card, loaded up with five free coffees per week, for five weeks – now that’s a goodie bag. Friday's session will be the culmination of a five-day discount party where espresso martinis and pizzas are both available for £5 across all seven branches this week.
