Earlier this year we reported that famed French pastry chef and Cronut® creator Dominique Ansel planned to bring his legendary baked goods to the capital with the launch of a new bakery. Well, mark your calendars and ditch that diet plan: he's announced that his London branch will be opening at 8am on Friday, September 30.

Based on Elizabeth Street in Victoria, the new site will not only serve some of the mega-popular creations that have been a hit at the original bakery in New York, including the frozen s'mores and cookie shots, but we can also expect a whole bunch of exclusives on the menu.

London firsts include a 'banoffee paella', a 'welsh rarebit' croissant and an 'eton mess lunchbox', which sound like the sort of quirky foodie trends-in-the-making worth queuing up for with the rest of London at the end of the month. But if September 30 seems too far away, feast your eyes on these pics of Ansel's classics every hour for the next 24 days instead.
