The Japan Centre is throwing a two-week party for its fortieth birthday

Isabelle Aron

Anyone who's ever been to the Japan Centre will know that it's a mecca for all types of sushi, endless varieties of ramen, spicy condiments and all the whacky flavours of KitKat you could ever hope to try. The Piccadilly-based food hall turns the ripe old age of 40 this year, and they're throwing a two-week-long party to celebrate. It kicks off this Sunday (July 10), when they'll be offering ten percent off everything in store and online. After the two weeks are up, 40 of the founder's favourite products will be on promotion with up to 40 percent off.

As well as some sweet savings, they'll be hosting sampling sessions and free masterclasses where you can get clued up on how to make sushi and find out everything you've ever wanted to know about matcha and sake. Plus, the store's sister restaurants Ichiryu Udon House and Shoryu Ramen will be offering free sake to all diners this Sunday. Kanpai!
