If you found yourself trapped in a toilet, what would your first reaction be? Try the door handle one more time or just go straight for the big guns and call in the Fire Brigade? Apparently Londoners seem to opt for the latter, as London Fire Brigade has released figures showing that from 2011 to the present day, they've received 3,855 calls from people stuck in a toilet or bathroom.

But which borough is the most full of crap? Tower Hamlets is the city's hotspot for these types of callouts, with 240 incidents since 2011. But at least the fire crews have a sense of humour about it – a spokesperson from the London Fire Brigade said: 'It's embarrassing getting locked inside a toilet but the vast majority of the call outs are not emergencies and we'd like to wash our hands of these incidents', which we're really hoping was an intended pun.

And did you know that Londoners spend more than three hours a day on the toilet?
