Last month, TfL made the not-so-surprising announcement that more people are using the tube than ever before, with October 9 breaking records as the busiest day ever so far. But the folks at TfL predicted that the record would be broken again before the end of 2015 – and guess what? They were right. December 4 is now officially the busiest day on record, with 4.821 million customer journeys in one day. That same week was also the busiest in the tube's history with 28.76 million journeys. And in one last bit of record-breaking news, 18 of the top 20 busiest days ever recorded on the Underground were in 2015. Although we're struggling to get too excited about all these stats as all it means for us is that our chances of ever getting a seat are rapidly decreasing every damn day.

In other tube news, staff at Holborn station have totally scrapped the 'stand on the right' rule.

And Central line trains are now stopping at Tottenham Court Road again!
