You know the scene: it’s 1am, and your ‘I’ll just have one’ post-work drink has beautifully snowballed into a full-on, ‘back at ours’ paaaarrrrrrtaaaay. But there’s one thing standing between you and your night of hedonism: you’ve made it home only to discover that your flat is dry. There’s not even a dusty bottle of value vodka lurking in the back of the cupboard.
To lend a hand in these oh-so-familiar situations is a new app called Kol, which first launched in Paris in 2015 and has now launched in London. It delivers wine, beer and spirits to you whether you’re at home, in the park or still at your desk (come on, we’ve all been there). And the best bit: they deliver until 5am and promise your booze will arrive within 30 minutes. Woohoo!
Each month the Kol team update their spirits and wine list, handpicking artisanal spirits and first-rate vintages. Expect a far more sophisticated selection than your local corner shop. And that doesn't mean it'll destroy your bank balance: you can currently get 70cl of Absolut for £20.40. They’ll also make sure that whatever you buy is delivered at the right temperature. And when you order through the app, you can track your bottle’s progress from the depot right to your hand.
Kol initially serves Zone 1 (including Shoreditch) with plans to expand to Zone 2 in the near future. And it runs from Thursday to Sunday, so no mid-week partying, alright?
