We salute anyone brave enough to launch an independent bookshop in London these days. So three cheers for new shop/café/bar Ink@84 in Highbury, which was recently opened by two arty locals. Author Betsy Tobin and artist Tessa Shaw have curated a selection of quality fiction and non-fiction, which they'll be selling alongside a café area with free wifi where you can have a caffeine fix from Nude Coffee or a glass of vino from the nearby Highbury Vintners. They'll be hosting readings, talks and workshops and are hoping to create a welcoming space for people to appreciate the wonder of books. We approve. Support them and swing by next time you’re in the hood.
