Put on your dancing shoes, and be sure to get your sea legs, too, because there's a silent disco coming to Regent's Canal. To celebrate the fact that eight sets of lock gates on Camden Locks have had a shiny makeover, the people from the Canal and River Trust will be opening up the Hampstead Road lock 1A to visitors.

The hush-hush party on the evening of September 3 is first come, first served with 200 tickets available for a tenner on the door. It starts at 7pm, with four half-hour slots, so be sure to get there early to bag yourself a headset. If you're not into dancing at heritage sites, you can pop down the following day to walk around the lock instead, as it will be open for visitors to have a gander at the 200-year-old brickwork from 10am to 6pm.
