This tube map proves that the Underground is hot as hell

Today's heatwave was manna from heaven for London's tweeters but no fun for the capital’s army of sweaty Underground commuters. But exactly how hot is it getting down there? And which lines are hit hardest? This TfL map from 2013 (click to enlarge) has the answers. Turns out the Central and Bakerloo lines are the worst culprits, regularly hitting a scorching 32°C, while the average ambient temperature across all lines was 22.2°C. Although we're sure that it was mucho scorchio than 32°C on the Central Line this morn! We recommend trying to plan your journeys so you just travel on the air conditioned train lines (Metropolitan, Circle, Hammersmith and City, DLR and the Overground) if at all possible!

Good luck out there
