This week's tube strikes have been cancelled! (but there might be more to come)

We've been bracing ourselves for the double-whammy of tube strike hell that was set to put the Underground out of action for most of this week. But now it looks we can stop panicking because the whole thing has been called off. Phew!

TfL has confirmed that the RMT, TSSA and Unite have agreed to suspend the two 24-hour strikes that were planned for August 25 and 27 after 'two weeks of constructive talks'. But we're not out of the woods just yet, because the unions have proposed two more 24-hour strikes on September 8 and 10 if a deal isn't reached. The dispute is over pay and working conditions for the new night tube service, which is supposed to kick off on September 12 – but at this rate that ain't looking too likely. For now, let's just be glad we won't be spending most of this week dodging business men on Boris Bikes, crouching under someone's armpit on a sweaty Routemaster or walking home in the rain.

Here are 26 fun things to do this week now there's no tube strike to stop you going anywhere.
