1. Listen to the one-and-only Philip Pullman discuss his writing process and his latest novel 'La Belle Sauvage' today at the Southbank Centre, as part of the London Literature Festival 2017. The 'His Dark Materials' author will be in discussion from 7:30pm. Tickets cost £20 to £45.

2. Tuck into the Southbank Centre's 'Great Nordic Feast', as part of its Nordic Matters season. Get fed by top Scandi chefs, including Titti Qvarnstrom, Sweden’s first female head chef to win a Michelin star, and Icelandic star chef Ylfa Helgadottir. Tickets are still available today for the 9am breakfast at £19 and the 12:30pm lunch at £49.

3. Walthamstow Reservoir has been undergoing an £8.7 million redevelopment since 2012, and, after a long wait, Walthamstow Wetlands will finally open to the public today. Head along to mill around the largest urban wetland in Europe, complete with ten reservoirs and prime wildlife-spotting opportunities. Entry at 2 Forest Road, N17 9NH is free from 9:30am.
