1. It’s a pescetarian vs carnivore stand-off for the 'Meat vs Fish' event in Flat Iron Square today. Ten of London’s finest restaurants – five serving up meat dishes and five fish meals – will compete for a foodie crown. The tickets are £25, but that includes four food tokens; plus all proceeds go to Action for Hunger. The games begin at 6pm, but you'll need to book in advance

3. Feeling guilty about all the plastic you use? Find out how you can work towards a 'zero waste' lifestyle with an introductory talk to celebrate Zero Waste Week. Youtuber Sustainably Vegan and the founders of package-free store Hetu will be offering advice on how to rid yourself of rubbish.

3. Hear emerging London poets and spoken word artists spit some riparian rhymes at 'Boat Poets: Thames Takeover'. Jeremiah Brown (aka SugarJ), Erin Bolens, Toby Campion and Rachel Nwokoro will all be sharing their Thames-inspired stanzas at the Royal Festival Hall. It's all free, but advance booking is required.
