The British summer can be an unreliable beast, and those sensible types over at Backyard Cinema don’t have time for messing around with rain ponchos. They’re setting up an indoor beach in south London this summer, where film lovers can watch movies whatever the weather.

Backyard are staying put at Mercato Metropolitano but are transforming their cinema into ‘Miami Beach’. There will be sand on the floor, a roof on your head and sunkissed vibes (even if it’s pissing it down).

The sunbathing is kicking off on Jun 9 with a mix of new movies and cult classics; from ‘Mrs Doubtfire’ and ‘Magic Mike’ to ‘Moana’ and ‘Moonlight’. Ticket start at £16.50 and can be booked now

If you’re after the real deal, here’s our pick of the best outdoor film pop-ups in London this summer.

Or hop on our very own Time Out Live movie boat
