It's no secret that sometimes sequels just don't live up to their predecessors. (We're talking about you, 'Grease 2', 'Basic Instinct 2', 'Taken 2' and lots-of-other-films 2.) But Chris Pratt, cinema's space-scavenger and dinosaur-whisperer, is not at all worried about disappointing fans with the return of his sci-fi character Star Lord.

'It's finished and it's going to be terrific,' Pratt said of upcoming sequel 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2', before adding confidently: 'I think it’s going to be – I’m not using hyperbole, here – I think it’s going to be the biggest spectacle movie of all time.' No pressure then.

'To be part of "Guardians of the Galaxy" is to be part of a franchise that really is so totally different,' he continued, talking to the Toronto Sun. 'It’s new and exciting and unlike anything people had seen before. There are a lot of superheroes out there, but I think we do something a little different.'

As well as boasting a mixtape '80s soundtrack, 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2' is set to star a lot of familiar faces. Zoe Saldana, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper and Karen Gillan are all returning for the sequel, which will see Star Lord, aka Peter Quill, discover more about his true parentage.

The rest of the plot is being kept under wraps, but, whatever you do, keep those expectations high...

'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2' will be in UK cinemas on April 28 2017.
