World Book Day

World Book Day, designated by UNESCO as a worldwide celebration of books and reading, is marked in over 100 countries. In the UK, all primary school children and certain secondary and preschools receive a £1 book token which can be exchanged for one of eight specially-produced World Book Day books. These cater to age ranges from pre-school to 11+ (see the website for a list of titles). Kids can also watch readings from the books online.
