Most debut acts at the Edinburgh Free Fringe are lucky to avoid bankruptcy. EastEnd Cabaret doubled their money. Not that we're surprised – when we put them on the cover back in January, we suspected big things were ahead. This full-length showcase lets the duo do what they do best: sing dirty songs while offering peeks into their a hilariously co-dependent ménage. EastEnd Cabaret are Eastern European femme fatale Bernadette Byrne and her Rohypnol-savvy accompanist and number one fan, literally lateral hermaphrodite Victor Victoria. Their songs deal with modern sex melodically and sexily; their rapport is credible and engaging; their effect is intoxicating.
