London International Mime Festival 2013: Derevo – Harlekin

Banish thoughts of Marcel Marceau knock-offs trapped in invisible boxes: this festival dating back to 1977 offers wordless work from around the world involving everything from puppetry and animation to circus skills and new technology, including many UK premieres. Inspired by commedia dell'arte, Dada, butoh and more, Russia's Derevo presents a 'sinister, beautiful and rich' spectacle about the harlequin figure, involving flesh and wood, ice cream and stained glass.
