Launched by Peter Cook in 1961, the original Establishment venue was as seminal a part of the satire boom as 'Beyond the Fringe' or 'TW3', which it helped to inspire. Thanks to the odd trio of Cook's widow Lin, Keith Allen and Victor Lewis-Smith, the club is now being revived as a monthly pop-up a stone's throw from its original location. Allen hosts, the James Pearson Trio perform original Dudley Moore jazz numbers and the rest of the line-up is under wraps but promises to range from newbies to familiar faces in unfamiliar modes, all supposedly dedicated to 'the art of unrestricted, uncensored performances'.
