As the name implies, this is a two-screen cinema and live arts space situated in the leafy environs of Crouch End.
Voted London’s best cinema by Time Out readers in 2014, this two-screen independent venue in a former Salvation Army Hall opened its doors in spring 2014 and quickly became a favourite with locals from Crouch End and the surrounding area. The ArtHouse prides itself on being not just a cinema but also a venue offering music, comedy and theatre. Its programme leans towards independent and foreign movies, while the foyer area offers a welcoming bar and café serving an attractive selection of food and drink. Time Out was proud to see copies of its reviews blown up large and stuck on walls for customers to read last time we popped in.

this is just a cinema who paid a really expensive publicity !!!
never go there
you watch move in a parking
it's freezing in winter
Excellent local cinema and (sorry to use this term) cultural hub .. run by locals , ethically run ... love it
This was the first cinema to come to Crouch End. Despite its small size it delivers first class entertainment.
The Arthouse screens some great movies. The staff are really friendly and helpful. Many films are accompanied by really interesting and insightful Q&As.
The pioneers in bringing arthouse films to Crouch End. Good low prices if you go at the right time (handy for us retired people). Nice tea, coffee and other refreshments that you can take in with you. As well as cinema films I have also seen a couple of theatre relays here - great!
Good viewing angles and friendly down-to-earth staff. Fair prices with a programme that delivers what's on release. What more do you want?
The Art House is an independent cutural venue, in every sence. They are a Living Wage Foundation's employer from the time they opened their doors.
A plug for the Living Wage Foundation.......
Tuesday the 1st. November in line with inflation, each year there is a slight increase.
Next week is Living Wage Week to say a huge thank you to those employers who are proud to reward their hard working employees.
Ikea are proud to be a Living Wage employer, they are in talks to recommend that their Contractors also sign up to pay their employees the nation wide LW.....
Champion, Living Wage Foundation.
Genuinely independent cinema in North London! Showing a variety of new releases and other cultural events. Always a pleasure.
Great little venue with an amazing variety of stuff on - not just films. Also the bar is great for a drink and I often pop in even though I'm not going to see a film.
They always have good films so I don't have to worry about finding out reviews etc in advance - they do it for me. In a year I have only seen 2 films less than thrilling.
Also the staff are always friendly and helpful. I go in the daytime and nearly always get the seats I like. They have good hot coffee and excellent sandwiches if you want that. It's a really nice local venue, not too glossy but efficient, comfortable and a generally nice environment. Long live the ArtHouse Crouch End!
Great selection of films, friendly helpful staff, great wine and food, comfortable seats and a truly independent chain-free cinema. Love it!
The best kind of club, open to anyone at decent prices. Nice food, great choice of films - always a pleasure to come there!
Great, locally run independent cinema that shows both mainstream and independent films and live streams. Great cafe and sells interesting snack, coffee as well as popcorn to take into the film.
lovely venue lots of memories for this building.. need to keep it alive.great staff very friendly seemed like something that belonged to the community rather than another commercial enterprise
I love the Arthouse. I've so enjoyed the friendly staff, the small comfy cinemas, and fabulous films. Have had some wonderful evenings there.
Beautiful little intimate cinema - Very friendly and warm staff. Amazing Q & A's with well known & important film directors & actors... AND the 1st cinema to open in Crouch End...Hoorah!!
Brave little independent venue that punches way above its weight. Staff are fantastic and it feels like a real arts cinema with comedy nights, Q&As and a fab little cafe.
Showing great films with a cute cafe)bar area to hang out in before or after ascreening, what's not to love?
Excellent programming, with a commitment to presenting diverse work and Q&As with a film's creative talent.
It s just Unique ! It has character, its cosy and familiar.. they got all sorts of art forms around, from paintings on the walls , books to read in the room with a view where they have two nice sofas to relax on, cakes are simply delicious made by local people, some "want some more of those" cocktails ,all at a Great price !
Staff are the jewel of the crown here, all have different personalities but all together they create a unique atmosphere and service. Independent is a key word for this place, so means they show many other films that most of the other cinemas don t. Its a cinema.. its a cafe.. its a bar .. its the Arthouse ! 😊
The ArtHouse cinema is a very welcoming place to be in. It is a community cinema without the
pretensions of chain cinemas. Their entrance prices are very reasonable and the foyer is
a very pleasant place to meet. High recommended. I wish them a long future.
