Danny Howells

Danny Howells is one of those DJs you've probably heard of but might not be able to place. That's not because he hasn't done anything of note – mark our words, he certainly has – but merely because he's a low-key legend. A former resident of John Digweed's early Bedrock nights, he's also a regular on the Renaissance label, both of which should give you an ideas of his progressive and deep house leanings, but Howells is certainly no one-trick pony, and has been known to lay down D&B and rock mixes, when he's not remixing Radiohead or Boney M, or creating eclectic dancefloor productions for his own Dig Deeper label. Watch this unassuming master at work in a four-hour set. This show was originally scheduled for East Village on 20 July before EV temporarily shut down due to licence troubles. The organisers say that tickets for the original event will be honoured tonight.
