There's been a lot of chat recently about the prominence of female DJs, much of it bath-related. But despite the furore and the arguments, one thing was pretty much universally agreed on – that more female DJs are needed to balance up a scene where the spotlight all-too-often falls on the men behind the decks. Perhaps seeking to remedy this, Femmes Fatales is a collective that promotes underground house, minimal and techno female DJs around the globe. Originally started in Oslo, tonight is the launch for the London arm, featuring the deep house tones of musician and artist Red Pig Flower, and the Femmes Fatales founders – click-tech producer and Modulate FM DJ Demika and soulful house and tech spinner B-LIZ.
