Hugely overrated indie night that I visited for the first time a couple of weeks ago, after being persuaded by friends that it "wasn't all bad". The Electric Ballroom on the whole is a very nice venue, with a variety of different rooms that have altogether different vibes, however the quality of music and the staff on this particular night was very poor. I went in with friends fairly early (about 10:30pm) and we were herded through the entrance like cattle, manhandled and searched, which I wouldn't have a problem with if the club was very busy however when we had been relieved of our entry fee and finally got through into the main room it was empty! Very similar to a school disco, the only few people in the were standing on the edges of the dance floor shuffling nervously. Waited about until about 12:30am hoping things would pick up (though I must say that the drink prices are reasonable) we eventually left, as the music was poor, with a handful of ropey indie hits and the dancefloor was still only about a quarter full. Probably wouldn't bother going back.
