It's kind of impossible to put a single name and date to the 'birth' of hip hop, but if you're gonna do it then Kool Herc is probably the guy, and the date is probably August 11, 1973, when he threw his first block party in the Bronx. Celebrating 40 years strong of hip hop are The Doctor's Orders, bringing undisputed hip hop legend Afrika Bambaataa to London. Playing alongside him are 'golden age' hip hop artist The Alchemist, current hot name Black Milk performing live, and rising talent/future star Tall Black Guy. Doc's Order's ressies are, as ever, on hand to keep the beats flowing.
