Where to begin with the Hurlingham Club? This place has literally everything you could want, need or even think of from a country club in south west London.

Like sports? They've got you covered with tennis courts (indoor, outdoor and all surfaces), squash courts, swimming pools (indoor and outdoor), croquet, cricket, putting range, gym and classes for all of the above available too.

Rather exercise your jaw than your biceps? The Dining Room is a real highlight for special occasions: an intimate and beautifully decorated room with very helpful staff and delicious food. The brasserie-style Harness room offers a more informal dining experience (including burgers, fish and chips, brunches etc) or you can head to the Sunday Carvery where generous portions of pork, lamb or beef are served by talented chefs before you continue to load your plate with veg, potatoes, yorkshires and delicious thick gravy. Just me?

The bar area serves subsidised wine, beer and spirits along with bar snacks which you can enjoy inside by the fire in winter or overlooking the putting greens on a hot summer's day when the BBQ is also available. The grounds are beautifully kept and there are so many times you can't see another building in sight, you genuinely wonder if you're still in London.

Social events are another huge part of of the club's calendar, with events including an outdoor cinema, speed dating, beer tasting, family picnic, carol concerts, dances,  and a black tie picnic.

All of the above barely scratches the surface of what The Hurlingham Club offers to its members, who are each allowed to bring 5 guests on weekdays or 3 on weekends. Membership applications are now closed, so do what you can to be invited (insider tip: you can marry your way in) to get through the guarded gates and see for yourself what all the fuss is about.
