Jerry Sadowitz tones down his trademark ragingly offensive stand-up in this magic panel show, suitable for all audiences. In Magic Challenge, Sadowitz – who is one of the world's finest close-up magicians, as well as one the best comics in the country – joins fellow magician Caspar Thomas and a guest to set each other challenges to perform particular tricks.
Brilliant illusionist Ali Cook brings his solo show, 'Principles and Deception', to Underbelly Festival this summer. Cook's appeared on 'Penn and Teller: Fool Us', 'Monkey Magic' and 'Dirty Tricks', and has also popped up in ITV's 'Mr Selfridge'. He's also a hugely impressive magician. Prepare to be fooled.
Improv gets a bad rap in this country, but anyone who dismisses the genre clearly hasn't seen Austentatious. This highly impressive troupe perform a completely improvised Jane Austen novel, complete with period dress and cello accompaniment, with marvellous results. Made up of Andrew Murray, Amy Cooke-Hodgson, Joseph Morpurgo, Cariad Lloyd, Graham Dickson and Rachel Parris, they're all hugely talented performers, able to keep the gag rate high and the made-up story rolicking along. Tremendous fun.
Think bingo is boring? So do this lot, which is why they created a brilliant, bizarre, boozy and unashamedly silly alternative. Two 'Wayne's World'-styled hosts throw serious shapes to the likes of Bon Jovi and 'Eye of the Tiger' while calling the numbers. There are numerous prizes to be won, including the coveted Bogan Bingo lunch box, plenty of classic '80s pub rock and floods of stonewashed denim.
