In tandem with cheeky partner-in-crime Monkey, London stand-up Nina Conti has helped resurrect a dying comic art with her jaw-dropping ventriloquism skills. In the process, she’s stormed the BBC’s ‘Live at the Apollo’, played to sold out theatres and earned a Bafta nomination for documentary ‘Her Master’s Voice'.

In her latest (largely improvised) show, the British Comedy Award winner slaps a dummy’s mouth on to unsuspecting audience members and turns them into her puppets. It’s one way of dealing with hecklers, I suppose.

Women comedians often get overlooked. But Nina Conti is shining right now and rightly so. Her new show is an absolute gem. Mostly improvised you will be in awe of her sharp wit, imagination and ability to carve a narrative from the most banal of everyday situations. Ventriloquist skills are becoming a rare art-form and Nina is at the top of her game. She brings up guests from the audience, straps on a mask and gets to work using her outstanding ventriloquist skills assigning each person a new identity. Guests interact with each other and the results are hilarious. She is the ultimate puppeteer. This is a show you could see again and again. Go.
