Top Secret Comedy Club is a great idea any night of the week – and it is open every night!

I went on a Monday when comedians were testing out new material and it was only a £1. Yes, £1. The price does differ across nights, and sometimes prices seem to go up depending on popularity of sales, but as everyone has mentioned, you're guaranteed good laughs! Even the evening's host was brilliant. The venue is pretty intimate, which is great, though go slightly earlier to pick your seat as it does fill up, and be warned – if you sit at the front you will undoubtedly become part of some of the acts ;) The affordability factor doesn't stop there with their £3 spirit & mixer offer – the cheapest I've ever encountered in Covent Garden.

So don't let the rough exterior appearance of this basement club fool you – it comes alive after 7pm! I'll be going again soon!

Head to the Top Secret Comedy Club if you're looking for a cheap but highly entertaining night out in London - a rarity in our wonderful city.

Some nights are completely free, some charge a small fee, but what you will always get is a laugh or two. We tend to go on Wednesday evenings when comedians are testing out their new material meaning you see a variety of different acts from TV starts to newbies, with mixed results of humour.

However, cheap beer than can be purchased in pitchers and an electric atmosphere mean you'll always leave smiling.

A great night out, and one I'd definitely recommend.

If things are getting a bit tight towards the end of the month, I would recommend Improv Tuesday's! It is *free* but the guys put on such a good show you will definitely want to kick them a little something at the end for their performance. As it is improv, every week is different and they take inspiration from the audience to influence the act. Always a fabulous night out, and I can't wait to go back!

Honestly one of London’s hidden gems.If you want to impress a date but are a bit broke, this is the place. With prices often less than £5 a ticket and drinks can be as little as £2.50 this is where you can get a lot of laughs for your money. If you feel extremely broke, head here on a night when a new act wants to try out new material, these are normally free. The man who runs and MCs the event is really passionate about what he does and will be the first to greet you and say thank you at the end of the night.I go quite often and if you do to, be sure to get a membership card, for a really low price (can’t remember how much as I actually got mine for free!) you can pop in here whenever you like for free! I have no idea how they make money but the comedy is always amazing and you can even play some ping pong in the bar first!

Top Secret is a great shout for a cheap night out and a laugh. With tickets as cheap as £5, you can't go wrong. Yes, you are taking the risk that some of the comedians won't be good or to your taste, but with drinks also available cheaply (large white wine £5.50, not many places in Soho which offer that!) it's a winner. Go with an open mind and the willingness to be taken the mick out of... Audience mockery is rife here! Definitely one that you will want to go back to

As with any comedy club, the quality of your night is dependent on the quality on the acts performing. I went to Top Secret's new material night last Monday and had a total hoot. I hadn't heard of any of the acts before but they included 2 american women (who for me were the best - American female humour is just funny!), a Malaysian chap who moved to London 2 years ago with his German wife who is feeling preeeetty hard done by thanks to Brexit, and an extremely un-PC guy with cerebral palsy who refers to himself as 'the spastic with the black dick" and invited me to his room afterwards... so there's something for everyone!

Granted, a few jokes fell flat, but that's to be expected when they haven't been tried and tested on anyone before. For the staggering price of £1 each, we saw 6 comedians perform for about 10 minutes each. Some really cracked us up for the entire set, others provided just a few laughs. The compare is funny and is good with the audience banter.

The bar is a bit meh - pretty grim tasting white wine will set you back about a fiver but you're not there for the wine list, you're there for the laughs which are almost guaranteed. And lets face it, for a quid, do you even care if you end up sitting there stone faced for a few hours? At least you're out of the house...

This comedy club is by far the cheapest for central London with really good quality headliners. Be sure to sign up to the mailing list to ensure you are aware of their last minute additions! The drinks are very expensive , top end for central London but that is the compromise! Definitely worth your time, reliable venue with good laughs :)

Top Secret appears to be the cheapest venue for seeing comics and buying drinks out of any other comedy club in the West End. In fact, some nights are totally free, so you could spend hours in there and not spend a penny - if you don;t drink, that is. Now relocated to a grotty basement under a sub-par, often empty pizza parlour at the far end of the Theatre Royal on Drury lane, Top Secret's name will feel amusingly apt to anyone searching it out for the very first time. A neon sign and a couple of smokers is about all you'll get for clues.

Inside its usually packed and totally electric. Yes, they have electricity! Their frenetic host introduces acts as though demonically possessed, whipping the crowd up into a clapping shouting frenzy, and quite regularly he gets into full blown arguments with groups of lads out pinting and louting, who are for some reason always present and believe themselves to be as rapiers. But aren't, unsurprisingly.

£5 at the downstairs door on a Thursday (by far the busiest night to go) will get you five or six stand ups, and the entertainment normally last from 8pm until 11pm.
