English National Ballet presents a triple bill celebrating legendary dancer Rudolf Nureyev, 75 years after his birth and 20 years since his death. The programme includes Maurice Béjart's beautiful 'Songs of a Wayfarer', set to Mahler, Act III from the ultra-classical 'Raymonda', and 'Petrushka' created by Fokine in 1911 for the Ballets Russes. The love triangle story between the puppet, the ballerina and the Moor is buoyed by an excellent Stravinsky score, but marred by being, frankly, somewhat racist.
