Ballet Black

A mixed bill from small but ambitious ballet company Ballet Black, which celebrates the talents of black and Asian dancers. The company has a great track record of commissioning new works from classical and modern choreographers. Tonight's highlight is a Shostakovich-inspired piece from Martin Lawrance (Richard Alston Dance Company). There's also a patchy but enjoyable narrative piece, 'Storyville', set in New Orleans, by Christopher Hampson.
