Angelin Preljocaj is one of France's biggest choreographers but his company isn't regularly seen here in London. This 'Snow White', from 2008, was Preljocaj's return to narrative after a number of abstract works, and he sticks pretty closely to the original un-Disneyfied fairy story, with a little more focus on Snow White's wicked stepmother. Preljocaj's precision modern ballet is backed by a score made up of extracts from Mahler's symphonies, and there are dramatic sets by Thierry Leproust and dominatrix-y costumes by Jean Paul Gaultier.
