Hip hop festival Breakin' Convention is back at Sadler's Wells for the 16th year running. Its guiding light and curator Jonzi D creates a forum for homegrown talents as well as bringing the best in hip hop dance theatre from around the world to London.
The event attracts a diverse and vocal young crowd and knocks down any notion that theatres are exclusive or formal places. This year's line-up has a strong UK focus, with performances from street dance pioneers Boy Blue, London-based poppers Fiya House and A.I.M. Collective, and oldskool jazz dance from Perry Louis’ JazzCotech Crew.
There's also a chance to check out street dance from further afield, with visits from international luminaries Geometrie Variable (France), Jinjo Crew (South Korea), and Angyil McNeal (USA). Plus, look out for workshops, freestyle jams, live graffiti and DJ sets taking place alongside the main performances - visit the Breakin' Convention website at breakinconvention.com for full details.
