Episodes of Blackness

Vocab Dance Company present their first triple bill, 'Episodes of Blackness'. The company call themselves 'Afro Eclectic', mixing contemporary dance, hip hop and traditional and modern African dance, and having taken part in showcase performances such as the Place's Resolution! season, choreographer/director Alesandra Seutin is moving up to the next level. Here you can see a new work, 'Word!', a response to the negative portrayal of youth culture in the media; the quintet 'Temps Mort', which has polygamy as its subject; and 'Kwenda-Kwenda', a piece about keeping your roots and looking to the future.
