A dance/circus piece created by Cambodian arts organisation Phare Ponleu Selpak in collaboration with French choreographer Sarosi Nay. Phare Ponleu Selpak was set up in 1994 by eight young Cambodians who had spent their childhoods in refugee camps on the Thai border, with the aim of rebuilding Cambodian identity through traditional arts and culture. 'Rouge' is a show about memory in a country where many young people grow up believing the Khmer Rouge's reign of terror in the 1970s is just a myth.
