Anatolian Cultural Fete

The grand opening (actually on Saturday at 2pm) of this annual festival of Turkish food and culture promises whirling dervishes, oil wrestling and the Ottoman Marching Band, but many of the anticipated 50,000 visitors will be here for sustenance: sipping Turkish coffee or ayran (a yoghurt drink) and tucking into kebabs, flatbreads and sweetmeats.
