PJ Harvey, Iron Maiden, MIA, Janelle Monae, Mastadon, Kings Of Leon, Matthew Dear, Anna Calvi, Bright Eyes, Weekend. Now in its 31st year, Roskilde is a super pricey but super slick affair well versed in organised fun. Sri Lanka-via-London renegade MIA lights up the stage with baile funk, synthy futuro-pop, clattering electro rock, fidget house and pretty much any other genre you care to mention. Plus, the impossibly resilient Brit-metal legends IM kick up a storm, while Polly Jean Harvey, whose always enthralling style has evolved through grungey neo-blues, upbeat alt.rock, moody and (melo) dramatic balladry and skeletal piano compositions with spectral vocals, shakes things up a bit – there's no definitive word as to what she'll be playing, but it'll be awesome.
