At this central London festival presented by The Oldie magazine, there's an opportunity to hear from a diverse bunch of writers, including Ian Hislop, Lionel Shriver, Phyllida Law, Ruby Wax, Paul Burston, Dan Snow and Judith Flanders. Pick of the programme is 'In and Out of the Book: The Uses of Illustration' with Quentin Blake (Sun Sep 29) and 'How to Spot a Psychopath' (Fri Sep 27), a discussion between developmental psychopathology professor Simon Baron-Cohen and forensic psychologist Kerry Daynes, who probably understand the human psyche better than most. The festival opens on Wed Sep 25 with a discussion on 'The Betrayal of Oscar Wilde', featuring playwright Sir David Hare, his current leading man (in 'The Judas Kiss') Rupert Everett and Oscar Wilde's only grandchild, Merlin Holland.
