The Southbank Centre celebrates the London 2012 Paralympic Games with a programme of commissions by deaf and disabled artists. Works span dance, performance, visual arts, comedy, circus, music and theatre and form the finale of the Southbank Centre's summer-long 'Festival of the World'. Some 200 artists are taking part, including Dame Evelyn Glennie, Charles Hazlewood and the British Paraorchestra, Claire Cunningham, Mat Fraser, Marc Brew, Bobby Baker and Candoco Dance Company. Highlights include Marc Brew Company with Evelyn Glennie (Aug 31), 'In Water I'm Weightless' (Aug 31, Sep 1), Bobby Baker's 'Mad Gyms & Kitchens' (Aug 31-Sep 9), Mat Fraser's 'CripTease-Unlimited' (Aug 31), Samba Ceilidh (Sep 2), 'Graeae: The Garden' outdoor theatre (Sep 6), a performance of the musical 'Reasons to be Cheerful' (Sep 9). Some events are ticketed, others free. Also look out for exhibitions, participatory activities and platforms for discussion and debate.
