Portobello Pop-Up Cinema

Cemeteries, power stations, swimming pools… outdoor cinemas are popping up everywhere this summer. Now add dual carriageways to the list. West London’s favourite pop-up is back this weekend for its second ‘We Love The 90’s Film Fest’, nestled under London’s most famous flyover, the Westway in Notting Hill (noise muffled by the concrete). Portobello's cinema is lovingly hand-crafted from local recycled material, with a massive 30ft screen. Each night over two weekends a guest host will introduce a classic ’90s film: including ‘Boyz N the Hood’ presented by ‘Kidulthood’ actor Femi Oyeniran and ‘Goodfellas’ by blogger Bangs. Jamaican burgermeisters Boom Burger are in charge of food and tickets are a snip at a fiver.
