Having tended the tresses of the rich and famous from Ivana Trump to Jamie Oliver, Stuart Philips retains a remarkably down-to-earth attitude and his plush Covent Garden salon reflects his demenor. We are always impressed by the treatment we receive here – on a recent trip the blow dry we had managed to give volume to our fine, limp hair with out making it frizzy. The interior is ultra-comfy and induces instant calm; recline in cool leather chairs and have a chat with the friendly, informative staff. From £30 for a wash and blow dry.
With both an infallible knowledge of the industry and a passion for decadent interior styling, Stuart has created a haven of luxury and comfort.
The salon features innovative furniture and technology to ensure clients receive a memorable salon experience with a unique edge over competitors. Every client receives a complimentary head and scalp massage laying back in comfort on reclining chairs.

I have been coming to see Stuart for a few years, he is an outstanding stylist and knowledgeable on many subjects
Love this salon, Stuart and Christina always give me a great cut and colour. Really good head massage too!
As I had a small budget this time I decided to book with one of their young stylists.
Darry was very sweet and gave me a lovely haircut, I would go as far as to say one of the best haircuts I have received in a long time.
I will be introducing my partner to her for his next haircut.
Originally thought Stuart was a bit pricey but decided to treat myself as a one off! I was also a bit nervous as you know what some of the so called top London salons can be like!
Stuart was actually awesome, his hair consultation and cutting skills are certainly a rarity, he gave me one of the best cuts I have had in London, this salon certainly lives up to the reputation from what Time Out quotes, very relaxing indeed!
I thought Chelsea gave me a fantastic head massage too.
I will be saving up to go back to Stuart.
This salon is very relaxing and the staff are friendly. Christina lightened my hair with some extra blonde highlights and Dale made me look more fashionable. Great team at Stuart Phillips!
This is my second visit to SP salon and Stuart gave me another spot on haircut. My head massage was great too!
I have had a few different stylists cut my hair over the years and have always been very happy.
I decided to try Stuart himself, as I enjoy watching him cut especially on his YouTube channel.
Really pleased with my new style, only problem is I will have to save up a bit longer for my next cut, definitely worth it though!
This is the second time I have had my hair styled at this lovely Covent Garden salon.
It is by far the most relaxing salon I have been too. The colourist Christina was telling me that most of the staff have been there forever, which was quite apparent as they all seemed quite happy.
After a long consultation Christina gave me a brand new look, she called it Balayage, I really like it and so does my husband, which says a lot as he rarely comments on my hair!
Found this boutique salon on-line and after chatting with the friendly receptionist I booked a cut with Stuart.
I have never spent £175 on my hair before but had great hope that he would create something special.
Upon entering the salon I immediately felt a nice calm atmosphere and after my thorough hair consultation (Stuart called it a lifestyle hair consultation) I knew I was in for a treat.
He created a new look, my hair is now styled onto my face and somehow managed to create an illusion of my hair looking thicker. My wife always said to me that it would suit me going forwards but I never listened!
Cheers Stuart, my wife has just booked an appointment to see you in December.
I have been going to the same hairdresser for years and decided to look for a good London salon.
After reading many reviews on Google I decided to try Stuart Phillips himself. This was my first visit to a London salon so was a little nervous.
Stuart was very professional and spoke about 2 possible cuts, I decided to go for the shorter version, I was not disappointing. His salon was very relaxing and the staff were friendly too.
Will definitely return in a couple of months!
I find it very difficult looking for "great hairdressers" as I've been disappointed many times. Just before Christmas I decided to start a search on line!
I booked an appointment with one
of Stuart Phillips artistic team members, he gave me a great haircut which has
been very easy to maintain at home.
Problem solved, I look forward to my second visit!!
I have been going to my hairdressers for many years and it seems they have become complacent with my hair.
I love Covent Garden and after looking up Stuart Phillips on Google I felt after reading many of his reviews I would try the main man for an inspiring new haircut. I found Stuart very professional and extremely good at his job. He gave me a long hair consultation where I learned so much about my hair, face shape etc.
Anyway, this was the best haircut I have had in many years.
His staff were also very friendly.
I have now found a great hairdresser in one of my favorite areas of London.
Since my last hairdresser left I tried other stylists from the same salon but they were not as good.
I've tried other big salons in London but haven't found anyone that even compares to my last stylist. I decided to look on the internet and spent hours searching.
I then discovered this boutique salon in Covent Garden "Stuart Phillips" I can't believe that I'd never heard of them, this salon is award winning and just love their website.
Anyway I booked an appointment and decided to pay a little more with the man himself and have one of his top colourists Caron-Ann.
As soon as I walked in and even though Stuart was just finishing off a blow-dry he came up to me and introduced himself, he explained that he would be around 5 minutes, his lovely smile put me at ease somehow.
Stuart gave me a long hair consultation and spoke about everything from my face shape down to my job, he even gave me two choices of cuts and everything had a full explanation. I have never experienced a consultation like it, I would have paid for that alone. I agreed to let him cut six inches of hair with a long soft fringe. Knowing what I'm like I should have been nervous but he was so thorough with the explanation that I completely trusted and agreed with him, even my last hairdresser wasn't as thorough as this!
Caron-Ann then gave me a colour consultation, this was equally as reassuring as Stuart's, Caron was going to take me from a blonde to a brunette, I was excited but also nervous!
I could go on for ages writing about my experience on this salon, from the wonderful relaxing head massage that I received to the lovely friendly staff BUT the most important thing is the end result, as I'm sure you would agree!!
I can honestly say this is the best cut and colour that I have received in many years, the cut has taken years off me and I feel more confident about myself, my new hair colour is equally as lovely, as a blonde it looked a bit dull but somehow as a brunette it's given it more shine and made it appear slightly thicker.
I will certainly recommend this salon to my friends and family!
Called to enquire about appointment and receptionist was extremely unhelpful and had quite an attitude which is unprofessional and not what you expect from someone representing their firm. Manners cost nothing.. Lost a customer as a result but with an attitude like that, I doubt will care.
The great thing about Stuart and his team, is that as well as getting a good haircut by people that really know what they are doing, they also make you feel very comfortable. From the moment you walk through the door and receive a friendly welcome, to the relaxing shampoo with head massage, to a professional consultation to analyse and discuss the best treatment for your hair, you feel assured that you are having a fantastic experience. Well worth a visit.
I first discovered this gem of a salon after reading the Time-Out review. I then searched on line and discovered all the great reviews and ended up watching a few of Stuart's hair videos (very addictive) so thought I would give it a try. I decided to go for the best so booked an appointment with Stuart for the cut and his creative colour director Caron for my highlights. Although Stuart and Caron were fairly expensive I felt that it would be worth it because over the past few years I've tried many big name salons and was unfortunately disappointed each time. Although Stuart Phillips is also a big named salon I felt after reading the many reviews and watching his amazing hair videos that I could trust this salon. From the moment I walked in I was greeted by a friendly smile and was offered a drink. Stuart came up to me almost immediately and introduced himself, he had such a nice way with him and the fact that I recognized him from the TV I felt relaxed straight away. His consultation lasted about 20 minutes, it was incredible, he spoke about my face shape, bone structure and my lifestyle etc, it was the most thorough consultation that I have experienced. Caron also gave me a thorough consultation. I was then taken to the back wash where I laid back on their amazing shampoo beds for a blissful shampoo and head massage. After that wonderful massage I was very comfortable and relaxed. Stuart cut a few inches off and gave me some much needed layers and Caron added three different blondes but made it look very natural which was exactly what I was after! My conclusion is, I had the best cut and colour in over 40 years in a salon that wasn't intimidating but relaxing and comfortable. The staff were also very friendly and attentive. I will be recommending this salon to my friends!
