While a little outside of the airport, the Holiday Inn is still conveniently close: a shuttle bus goes directly from the hotel every 30 minutes on a five-minute journey there (£3 for adults, free for under-17s). Inside, there are 254 air-conditioned rooms, each with free wi-fi.
Chicken lovers will certainly go crazy for the restaurant here, the Great Room, in which a rotisserie oven works its magic on dozens of rotating, browning birds in full view of diners. Each morning, the poultry is eschewed in favour of a continental-style breakfast, which is included in the room charge – scrambled eggs, sausages, pastries and coffee and tea will set you up for the day. This is very much a budget option – but hey, frees up more cash for your destination of choice, right?
