After fighting on the front lines of the Earl’s Court budget-hotel style revolution, the Mayflower’s taken the struggle to other parts of London. But this is where the lushly contemporary house style evolved, proving that affordability can be opulently chic.
The recent complete refurbishment of the hotel, involving public areas and all the guestrooms, shows that it’s not resting on its laurels. Hand-carved Asian artefacts complement the richly coloured fabrics. The facilities, too, are well up to scratch, featuring marble bathrooms, Egyptian cotton sheets, free Wi-Fi and CD players in the rooms.
