The Montague is a classic, elegant hotel a two-minute walk from the British Museum.

As with most London hotels, the value for money in terms of space is pretty poor. The four-poster bed took up most of our room – in all seriousness we could barely get out of bed.

The service was what you would expect from a hotel of its calibre, and the food and decor in the bar were lovely. The area and convenience for central London are exceptional.

If you’re looking for luxury in central London, the Montague is a good bet - just don’t expect to be able to swing a cat.
