Centre of the Cell

The Centre of the Cell is a multimedia experience located in the middle of a busy biomedical research laboratory. The education centre aims to inspire curiosity by connecting science to everyday life. The fun is focused on 'the pod'. Suspended above the labs, the pod is accessed by a glass-walled walkway from which you can peer down at the scientists working in their white coats. Once everyone's inside, a film is projected on to the surrounding walls, introducing children to the amazing work going on all around them, and visitors can explore all sorts of biomedical science through interactive games. A weekly Saturday programme features the chance to examine real body organs and peer into microscopes, as well as live theatre shows addressing the enticing subjects of 'Snot, Sick and Scabs'. The content is aimed at kids aged 9+ but everyone is welcome.
