In Victorian kitchens, preparations for Christmas would begin in earnest on stir-up Sunday, the last Sunday before advent. Taking a step back in time, the Gunnersbury Park Museum decorates its kitchens with holly and ivy and invites families to help make festive foods such as plum pudding while learning about some of the traditions associated with Christmas. Sessions are free, and places allocated on a first come first served basis. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
