Big Storytelling Festival

Tying in with the Imperial War Museum’s by 2026 exhibition Childhood in War, this weekend of family friendly storytelling activities and children’s literature has a war focus – as you might expect from the IWM. The headline event is the legend that is Jacqueline Wilson offering a talk based around her 2017 book Wave Me Goodbye, about a young girl evacuated to the country during the Second World War. But there’s plenty more besides, from a comic workshop to family knees up singalong sessions.
