Bank holiday weekend family-friendly events

For bank holiday weekend, Circus West Village, at Battersea Power Station, will be hosting a three-day festival with food trucks and drink for the grown-ups (think Red Snapper bloody marys, Dodd’s gin), artist walks for all and activities for kids including floral face-painting, live music and street dancing round the Maypole. Yes, street dancing – this is funky south London, after all.

Circus West Village. Battersea Park rail. Sat May 27-Mon May 29. Free.

Morgan & West bring their own brand of child-friendly silliness to the secretive and spectacular world of conjuring in ‘More Magic for Kids!’ – a show for ages five-plus, blowing tiny minds in the Spiegeltent as the Underbelly Festival cranks into action on the South Bank.

Spiegeltent at Underbelly, South Bank. Waterloo tube/rail. Mon May 29-Fri Jun 4, 3pm; Sat Jun 3-Sun Jun 4, 1.15pm. £10, family ticket £35.

Expect sheep racing, sheep shearing, the chance to bottle feed orphan lambs and generally immersing yourselves in the world of all things sheep-ish at Lee Valley Park Farms. Oh, you can say hello to all the other animals while you’re here, too!

Lee Valley Park Farms. Cheshunt rail then two-mile country walk. Sat May 27-Fri Jun 2. Farm entry £9.
