Mention the word ‘maths’ and most of us think of numbers on a page. And, if your school experience was anything like mine, that doesn’t spark much joy. Turning the tide on this is MathsWorld, the new immersive discovery centre, that's dedicated to changing all of your preconceptions. With a collection of over 40 hands-on exhibits, MathsWorld is here to deliver an unforgettable day out for all of the family. Here are five reasons to head to London's Southbank and check out this brand new attraction.

It's full of adventurous things to try

MathsWorld is full of colourful imagination-sparking activities! You can step inside a giant soap bubble, see infinitely many copies of yourself inside the kaleidoscope, and try the elliptical pool table. There's also plenty to get your brain ticking, with codes to crack and fascinating conundrums to solve: perfect for Sudoku solvers, Countdown watchers or avid fans of The Traitors.

It'll appeal to all ages

Small children will be entranced by this colourful playground, which offers a dedicated area for under-eights. Older kids will love challenging each other to complete puzzles first, and discovering the bits of maths you don't get taught in school. And adults will enjoy stretching their brains at exhibits specially targeted at grown-ups, including a display on artificial intelligence.

It'll show you why maths matters

Amongst all the fun of MathsWorld is a serious message. Maths isn't just sums on a page. It's woven into the fabric of our everyday lives, underpinning the ways we work and play. There's plenty here to encourage deeper thinking, and spark ideas you'll be thinking about long after you get home.

It's a wallet-friendly day out

If you're counting your pennies, you'll be thrilled to learn that MathsWorld offers affordable tickets, starting at just £14.50 (£13 for kids). And that gives you access as many times as you like for a whole year! Plus, its location on Southbank means you can combine it with a stroll by the Thames, or with one of the many dining or entertainment options in this lively part of town.

It's already been a hit elsewhere in the UK

MathsWorld comes to London after the success of MathsCity in Leeds, the previous attraction from its team. Glowing online reviews describe its well-maintained environment, visually appealing exhibits, and family-friendly games to play. Go along and check out this new addition to London for fun you can count on.
