New York artist Penny Arcade is a pioneer of both performance art and burlesque. With four decades' experience under her belt, including collaborations with the likes of Andy Warhol and Jack Smith, Arcade remains fiercely engaged with contemporary politics and culture as well as bearing witness to recent history. Mixing memoir, character comedy and radical satire, 'B!D!F!W!' is her signature piece – part night-club, part theatre event and part political provocation with an erotic twist. infamous monologues feature the daily life of a receptionist in a brothel, the upbringing and rearing of a 'faghag', the evolution of the New York gay scene, and the heartbreak of HIV and AIDS.
