If there’s one thing kids like, it’s dinosaurs, and if there’s another thing kids like, it’s Lego; combine the two and bam – that’s ‘Brick Dinos’, baby. Artist Warren Elsmore has made a series of dinosaurs both small and cute and borderline lifesize out of the ubiquitous plastic bricks, and though it’s a touring exhibition he’s even crafted a new Polacanthus – a sort of early Cretaceous forbear of the Ankylosaurus – especially for the Horniman. There are about 20 creatures in the exhibition, including the 1.5m long Polacanthus; note that ‘Brick Dinos’ is not formally affiliated with Lego, beyond being made out of it.
