We were due to go to Shepherd's Bush for a concert by Rend Collective, but the venue had to close due to structural problems and the concert was relocated to the Coronet, which I had never heard of before.

We got to Elephant and Castle shortly before the doors opened at 6:30 so decided to have a look at the shopping centre for a few minutes and then join the queue after half six when it had started moving.  However, when we got back out, the queue didn't seem to be moving much at all and more and more people were joining the queue, so we thought we'd better join it.  We literally walked all the way round the outside of the shopping centre to get to the back of the queue.  The concert was due to start at 7:30, but by 7:45 we were only just getting to the front of the queue and got in just before 8pm.  We didn't receive any information while we were outside as to the cause of the delay, so I don't know if there was a problem, or if this is a usual occurrence with this venue.

We had tickets for the standing area, so made our way to this area when we arrived.  It was getting quite crowded, but fortunately didn't get too packed, so you had a bit more room than you would have done on a crowded tube.  We didn't get to see the upstairs, but the place is over 100 years old with lots of character, so I was disappointed to read that it will close next year.  We really enjoyed the concert and the evening was great despite the queueing.

One of the best live music and party venues. Has a large capacity of 2500, multiple floors, rooms and outdoor spaces.
